I was not always overweight. When I got married at age 20 and had a daughter at age 21, I gained weight. I got divorced, married my second husband and lost the weight. But with the birth of my son, I put all the weight back on again. My highest weight was 186 at age 53.

At a family reunion last June, my family was shocked. My sister didn't recognize me getting off the plane! She was always the skinny one, so it was a great moment for me.
